Tips for applying for parking in 2010-2011

If your son or daughter is planning to drive to school, a parking permit is required.  Students who park vehicles without a permit are subject to municipal citations and/or towing charges without notification.

  • Students who pre-registered for a parking permit during May/June 2010, the $200 fee will be included on your invoice and you may pick up your permit at the parking table during registration.
  • The next time parking applications will be accepted will be starting August 23, 2010, in the High School office from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • When applying on or after August 23, 2010, the parking fees are due with the application.
  • Applications may be picked up at registration, in the HS front office, or printed from this webpage.
  • Each student applying for a parking permit must apply in person, with their application filled out-including parent signature, show their valid driver’s license, have all detentions served and all fees/fines paid in full.
  • Unless you have applied in advance – you will not be able to purchase a parking permit at registration.

 Parking Fees:

Upper Student Lot - $200

Lower Student Lot - $180

Daily Parking Permit - $5

Please remember that in order to apply for a parking permit you need:

  • a valid drivers license
  • all detentions served
  • all fee/fines paid in full
  • students need to apply in person
  • parent signature is required

Anytime your vehicle is parked on school grounds you must purchase either a permanent parking permit or a daily parking permit.

If you need a daily parking permit, you need to purchase the daily permit for $5 in the front office the day before or the morning of the day you need the permit.  When you purchase a daily parking permit you need to park in the lower parking lot and hang the permit from the rearview mirror of your vehicle.

If you have a permanent parking permit, anytime your vehicle is parked on school grounds your sticker needs to be affixed to the front windshield and parked in the correct parking lot.  Applications for permanent parking permits are available in the front office.

To affix your permanent sticker – As you are sitting in the drivers seat of your vehicle reach your left hand forward and adhere the sticker to the inside front windshield.  The sticker should not be lying on the dashboard or taped to the windshield.

Vehicles will be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense, without warning, if the vehicle is:

  • parked on school grounds, which includes Wales Elementary, without a purchased permit,
  • parked in a lot not specified by the permit,
  • parked in a restricted area, which includes but is not limited to, visitors parking and athletic office parking.

If you are driving another family owed vehicle to school that does not have your permanent permit on the windshield, please stop in the front office prior to first period to fill out a temporary parking permit.  There is no charge for this permit. It does, however, need to be hung from your rearview mirror to avoid being ticketed and/or towed.

If you change vehicles during the school year, please peal the sticker off the old vehicle and bring it into the front office with all your new vehicle’s information.  We will then give you a new sticker for your new vehicle.  There is a $5 replacement fee if you do not return the sticker when you change vehicles.

Stickers are non-transferrable between students.
