Laser Live 9

What is Laser Live 9?

Laser Live 9 (LL9) is the Kettle Moraine Middle School closed-circuit television broadcast channel.  Initially, LL9 televised morning announcements on Friday mornings only.  Today, LL9 has expanded its broadcasting to a daily live program.
Included with the broadcasts are morning announcements, sports reports, weather reports, birthdays, special presentations, student produced videos, quiz shows, public service announcements and more.
Who produces LL9?

The production of LL9 is a collaborative effort between students and staff.
Any student may join the LL9 crew.  All that is required is parental permission.
Mr. Hillmer and Mrs. Russell are the LL9 advisors.
How is LL9 organized?

LL9 is organized by tasks or jobs that need to be done.
Jobs include:  director, anchors, camera crew, computer technician, tech cart crew, sound technician, test and setup crew, recorder, news runner, weather person, sports person, and back-up personnel for each job.
LL9 has student interns that help with production of PowerPoints and iMovies.
When is LL9 broadcast?

Timeline:

7:00 - Setup and Preparations
7:15 - Anchors Rehearsal

7:20 - Special Broadcasting  (this could be student generated quiz shows, public service announcements, videos of field trips, etc.)

7:25 - 7:30  Morning Announcements

After school meetings are held occasionally.

Why is LL9 important?

Daily, we witness the power of mass media influencing our lives.  LL9 programming intends to capture this power and influence. We encourage our students and staff to make healthy life choices, increase our knowledge and sense of community, and to promote life long learning.
