ELEMENTARY BACK TO SCHOOL BASHES CELEBRATE ONE KM!! As the district plans to combine four elementary schools into three for the 26-27 school year, we have extended many events to all of our 4K-5 families district-wide! This will begin with our Back to School Bashes on August 27th. You can stop in at Magee and Cushing from 4:30 - 6:30pm and Dousman and Wales from 5:30-7:00pm. We hope you will take advantage of these opportunities to experience each of our KM schools, meet staff members, and make new friends! Creating pathways for students and families to transition gradually throughout the year will build confidence and ease the anxiety that often accompanies change. We also hope to cultivate a more connected KM Community and bring families together. To learn more about each of our schools, you can visit their websites using the school dropdown at kmsd.edu and use the events icon at the top of the menu to see what is happening throughout the year. KM GIRLS GOLF RANKED 10TH IN STATE BY GOLF COACHES ASSOCIATION OF WI!!! The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin (GCAW) is the professional organization of WIAA member school golf coaches. Each year, their members vote on the most promising teams in the state. This year, KM girls made the top ten ranking for division one! The GCAW also recognizes the excellence and achievements of its members and their student-athletes in academic, athletic, and civic endeavors.

COMMUNITY LISTENING SESSION TOMORROW NIGHT!! The Kettle Moraine School District is committed to providing the best possible learning environment for our students in a manner that is fiscally responsible. Declining student populations required a reevaluation of our operational efficiency to ensure that resources support educational outcomes rather than scaling our district for pre-existing student populations. We have entered the planning phase of our restructure, with the board voting unanimously to approve new elementary boundaries, move KM Explore to Dousman, and provide busing to make this learning environment available to all families. As part of our planning and restructuring process, we will be holding a Community Listening Session on August 20th from 6-7pm at Wales Elementary. Please join us to discuss KM's future planning. EXPLORE PIONEERS GATHER TO PULL WEEDS AND MEET FRIENDS!!! The Pioneers came together to help get the Wales campus prepared for the fast-approaching school year. They had a lot of fun reconnecting with their friends, pulling the many weeds that have crept up, and enjoying an ice cream treat to celebrate their efforts. After a lengthy process of comparing school sizes, classroom capacity, open enrollment, per pupil costs, student concentrations, and transportation, the board voted to close Magee Elementary. We have now entered the planning phase of our restructure, with the board voting unanimously to move KM Explore to Dousman Elementary and provide busing to make this learning environment available to all families. The board also approved new elementary boundaries. The District is working with Dousman Transport to keep transportation at or below current maximum transit times as well as exploring opportunities to create efficiencies for families.
