COMMUNITY PARTNERS!!! Residents from Riverside Lodge on Three Pillars Senior Living Communities' campus in Dousman recently presented Dousman Elementary School Psychologist Brenda Sweet with 50 bookmarks for her students. "Our residents enjoyed the creativity and fun the project afforded," said Jen Graf, Three Pillars' Senior Director of Dementia Programming. "Our residents take immense joy knowing the surprise gift of hand-made bookmarks will delight children at their local elementary school. We take great pride in our partnership with Kettle Moraine School District and this is just one of a number of intergenerational initiatives we're able to collaborate on."

KM EXPLORE COME SEE IT LIVE EVENT!!! Drop by the Wales Elementary Campus from 9-10 am on January 29th to visit the KM Explore Charter and learn more about our amazing staff and students. Explore focuses on meeting the individual needs of all students by creating social capital and having our staff, families, and community partners target what kids need. We want students to develop the habits that are going to make them successful citizens, such as persistence, managing impulsivity, and listening with empathy and understanding. Relationships are very important and we hope to build one with you on the 29th!

CONCERT FOR A CAUSE WITH HAWS!! Our 7th Grade students have chosen HAWS (hawspets.org) as our charity/non-profit of choice to raise awareness and funds in line with our mission of a “charity concert”. The students have been researching organizations in our area to support and have voted on HAWS as the top charity of choice this year. In line with the mission of using music to support a cause, we are asking families to consider donating to HAWS at the concert. Both cash and online donations will be accepted, and we will have more information about HAWS during the concert. If you are able to, we would love it if you can support the mission!

RILEY VERTZ SELECTED AS GREEN BAY PACKERS GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL HIGH SCHOOL PLAYER OF THE YEAR NOMINEE!! The Green Bay Packers nominated Vertz for her tenacity and incredible stats. Not only is Riley the team captain and leading scorer, she maintains a 3.9 GPA and is heavily involved in volunteer work. Riley, a senior, has contributed to the Laser's nearly perfect season, making them the top seed in post-season play. Each NFL club selected one player based on their outstanding on-field performance, academic achievement and community service. Riley is now in the running for the Maxwell Club/NFL National Girls Flag Football Player of the Year Award. The winner will be selected later this month and will be honored at the 88th Maxwell Awards at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta in March. “The opportunity to continue the Maxwell Club’s mission of promoting all aspects of football and amplifying the amazing efforts of young women who are pioneering the game of flag football is a great honor,” said Mark Wolpert, executive director of the Maxwell Football Club. “The players, coaches and organizations who have championed the development of the game are to be commended, and the opportunities that now exist for girls and young women will continue to grow. The support of the National Football League is a huge driver for the growth of this game and the Maxwell Football Club is excited to play a part in recognizing excellence both on and off the football field for these amazing athletes.”
