KM MOUNTAIN BIKE TEAM FINISHES SEASON!!! This past weekend was the last race of the season for the KMHS mountain bike team. Over 1300 student athletes from across the state descended on the Trek Headquarters in Waterloo for the Red Barn Classic. It's quite a special treat for the athletes to be able to ride on Trek's private trails. The JVIII racers faced really challenging conditions with rain, cold, and a ton of mud, but they all pushed through and did a great job. Fortunately, the weather improved as the day went on so that JVII, Freshman, and open athletes had nearly perfect conditions for their races, with Rachel Meyers achieving a 4th place podium finish. We want to give a special shout out to the seniors Lucas Heimsch, Gabe Wendt, and Dillon Morrison; we wish them all the best in their next adventures, and we look forward to seeing the rest of our riders back next season. JVIII: Drew Ebert, Lucas Heimsch, Gabe Wendt. JVII: Chase Jobke, Bodie Curran, Dillon Morrison. Freshman Boys: Brogan Burtenshaw, Sam Ruppert, Typer Wiedenbauer. Freshman Girls: Drew Voight. Open: Rachel Meyers.

BASH ON THE GRASS THE REBOOT!!! The KM Community came out again this weekend to celebrate the wonderful things happening in our community! Bash on the Grass was amazing, with over 550 activity tickets sold, not including the many parents who came to watch and enjoy their children playing in the bounce houses and participating in the various activities. Thank you to KMHS business teacher, Jeff Ksobiech, and all of the DECA club members and KM students who worked so hard to bring this event back by securing sponsors, setting up and running booths, and assisting families. While we do not yet know the final Make-A-Wish donation total, the night was an incredible success that we hope to continue! Stay tuned for an upcoming Capturing KM video on this event.

It was amazing how quickly they were able to complete construction with such a large crew. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held yesterday evening to officially share the space with the KM Community. The garden, complete with a train track pathway, merges the two schools beautifully and provides a lovely habitat for butterflies and pollinators.
