SUMMER ACADEMY FISHING CLASS BENEFITS FROM COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP!!! The KM Summer School Fishing Class has enjoyed its partnership with Dick Smith's Bait and Tackle Shop in Delafield. Four fishing classes have met Mike Smith, and learned about different types of live bait - minnows, grubs, worms, and leeches, as well as which bait works best for different types of fishing. He generously gave each student a starter kit of hooks and lures as we began our fishing field trips.

ADVOCATE FOR FAIR FUNDING!!! Protect the Open Enrollment Increase. As the Wisconsin State Budget heads into final negotiations, a proposed increase in Open Enrollment reimbursement funding is at risk. This matters to Kettle Moraine. Open-enrolled students are a vital part of our schools. They’re classmates, teammates, and leaders in our community. The proposed increase ensures that all students are funded more fairly and that our district can continue offering strong academic programs without placing added pressure on local taxpayers. If you believe in fair funding for all students—no matter where they live—this is the time to speak up. Contact your state legislators and urge them to keep the Open Enrollment funding increase in the final state budget. Your voice matters. Advocacy works. NATIONAL HISTORY DAY UPDATE!!! 6th graders Cecelia and Reagan knocked it out of the park on Monday when they presented their website on the history of Social Security. After their presentation, a reporter from The Guardian, who was in the room, stepped out and interviewed them. That doesn’t happen every day. Junior, Emma Manion, was amazing in her performance (play). She took 1st in her room (10 students) and will perform again today in the finals against 10 other rooms. After her performance, she visited the Smithsonian Museum of Native Americans to find the historical character she researched. It took awhile but she found her, Ada Deer. Team Wisconsin is meeting with Senator Baldwin at the Capitol (Johnson is unavailable), then celebrating tonight by going to the Annual Congressional Baseball Game where Republicans and Democrats face off. We will keep you updated as final results come in. Thank you to all who donated to help with travel expenses for these talented young ladies!
