Thompson and the Kettle Moraine boys basketball team continued its perfect season this past week, winning three more games to improve to 19-0 on the year. The Lasers are quite clearly on a mission and Thompson is locked in here in February. In a 66-50 win over Muskego, the NCAA Division III UW-Eau Claire commit had just nine points. From there, he owned the week. Thompson had his first 30-point game in a 74-54 win over Catholic Memorial, finishing with a career high 32 in the victory. The 6-5 senior wing then showed out in a 73-62 win over Nicolet playing in the Deer District Prep Showcase at the Fiserv Forum. Two days after setting a career high in points scored, Thompson topped that by going for 34 in the win over the ranked Knights. Great work Roman!

LASER LADIES OF STEM!!! Each year, Kettle Moraine Middle School holds an event for girls who are interested in STEM. The event, overseen by Denise Olson, organizes students into groups and assigns a task. The girls then select their materials and devise and build a system to attain that result as effectively as possible. At the end, their projects are tested to see which group obtained the best result. The event is a lot of fun, and it is wonderful to watch these young ladies working together to solve a problem. Watch for an upcoming Capturing KM on Laser Ladies of STEM!

Getting rid of all of the plastic bags, wraps, shipping materials, water bottles, and containers you've been holding onto is a win for you, KMHS, and the environment! KMECO's challenge goal is to collect 1,000 pounds of plastic in a year. If the goal is achieved, NexTrex will send our school a bench made from recycled materials!!! Three bins have been placed throughout the school with one right inside the building just beyond the front lobby entrance. KMECO believes #KMNation can rise to the challenge to help keep plastic waste out of landfills and create something functional in the process. They are always looking for new ways to make a positive impact on our environment and to make our school even more sustainable. If you have any questions or want more information please contact Grayson Sikorski sikogra@kmsd.edu or go to the NexTrex website.
